Real Techniques Core Collection Kit | Review

I haven't been able to blog as much as I've wanted to recently as work is literally taking up 90% of my life. Money wise it's a good thing, but socially I haven't had much free time to chill out or hang with friends, everyone's going back to Uni soon and the next big meet up wont be until Christmas- boo :(!

Anyway, I'm the type of person who has to use a product for at least a couple of months until I can develop an opinion, especially if I'm going to recommend it to a friend or write a review. I can never understand people who use a moisturiser or foundation for a week and then claim how amazing it is! That's not long enough for your skin to show improvements or for you to see how the product stands out after a couple months worth of use.

I bought the Real Techniques Core Collection kit 2 months ago and from my first use I was instantly in love. These are hands down the best brushes I have ever used! They're also super soft which is a plus so they feel delicate on your skin as opposed to feeling rough and uncomfortable, they're also 100% cruelty free so what more could you want? The brushes come in a black travel case that can be folded down and used as a stand for your brushes, this is incredibly handy if you don't have much storage space or even if you want your brushes on show!

Contour Brush: The first brush in the collection is the contour brush which helps "create definition with bronzer or blush on the cheeks". I absolutely love this brush for contouring the cheeks, I'm able to apply both products so easily with this brush and due to the small size I'm able to define my cheekbones and then blend the product out to a desired effect. This brush is the perfect size to glide across the hallows of my cheekbone and it feels so effortless.

Pointed Foundation Brush: This brush is to build up a liquid foundation coverage but I've found it too small to apply foundation to the whole face. I've found that this is the perfect brush to use to conceal my under eyes and some blemishes. This brush can apply products a bit streaky, but I've found patting product onto the skin has a better effect, failing that you can always use the buffing brush to blend out for a natural finish.

Detailer Brush: The detailer brush can be used to apply concealer but I've also found that it's the perfect brush for highlighting and concealing areas, such as the corner of your nose or the eyes. Due to the small size of the brush it can be a bit time consuming if you're trying to cover large blemishes, so the pointed foundation brush can be used as an alternative if you don't have any other brushes you can use.

Buffing Brush: This is my favourite brush out of the whole collection, I always use this brush to apply my liquid foundation and I've found that it gives such a flawless finish and blends really well. I've found that the best way for me to apply foundation with this brush is to move in circular movements, the product doesn't cling to the brush too much and the circular movements makes the finish look much more natural as opposed to looking cakey or patchy.

Overall this is a brilliant set and the quality of all the brushes are fantastic. There's not a single brush in this set that I wouldn't use and it's such great value for money. I doubt you could find a fantastic set of brushes like these for any cheaper, and Amazon currently have them on sale here for £16.49 (that's a saving of £4.50 off the rrp)

What are your opinions on Real Techniques brushes?
